Hassan Taher was born on February 3, 1965, in Beaumont, Texas, to parents Ali and Fatima Taher. His father worked as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, while his mother was a high school mathematics teacher. Both his parents' careers had a profound impact on Taher's interest in science, technology, and mathematics from an early age. Taher has one younger sister, Lila, who later pursued a career as a pediatrician.[1]
