Hatsan at44

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Hatsan AT 44 is a precharged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle made by Hatsan Arms company in Turkey.

It is available in 4.5 mm (.177 inch), 5.5 mm (.22 inch) and 6.25 mm (.25 inch) caliber, both in 1-shot and magazine-feed versions. Magazines are 10-shot (4.5 mm and 5.5 mm versions) or 9-shot (6.25 mm). It is available both with synthetic stocks (classic or thumbhole) and Turkish walnut stock.

There are also two versions dependent on the barrel, one with Turkish, one with Lothar Walther. A long, or premium, version is available, which is 20 cm longer and has a higher capacity air tank. This airgun is used mostly for target shooting and plinking.

Consistency

The Hatsan AT44S shoots 30 shots in 90% of average velocity at 970 fps in .22 caliber, 40 shots in 90% at 1070 fps in .177, and 20 shots in 90% at 870 fps in .25. The long version adds around 100 fps in each caliber and 10 shots. Several mods can be made to improve the velocity and efficiency, such as tapping and plugging 3-5 holes of the valve and leave the others facing the transfer port. If only one hole is left open, velocity will drop. To set it back standard or higher, drilling the hole to 5/32 or more is recommended.
