Have You Heard of Schellevis-Mie?
Have You Heard of Schellevis-Mie? (Dutch: Weet je 't al van Schellevis-Mie?) was a 1915 Dutch comedy play with Solser en Hesse. It was staged 100 times over many years and is their most memorable.[1][2][3]
Although the play had to be cancelled several times, as Solser was neurasthenic (suicidal) and unreliable. After his death, Piet Hesse’s wife Anna Slauderoff reluctantly agrees to the role. (Which could be played by genuine girls thanks to his talent). She premiered it on her 30th stage anniversary on February 9, 1916.[4] Lion’s death also marked a decline in “Jordaan” sketches.[5]

- Haddock Mie- Lion Solser ; His best creation was a fishmonger who has loose legs, a good heart with swaying hips. She tangos, pat-a-cakes, wears a dress and a bright white smock. She also has a beautiful voice. This role earned Solser the honorary membership in the Free Society of Women Fishmongers.[6]

Storyline[edit]
Not much is known about the exact storyline of the play. Only 3 acts have been named publicly, with the only manuscript being published as a book. However, no scans have been made of this and it is discontinued.[8] The play is preceded by several one-acts, which are listed separately: The Cousin from Outside, His First Day Off. The only other plot point known is that Mie “wins a lottery and travels to high society”.
