Hazel Shannon
Hazel Shannon is an Australian equestrian. In 2018, Hazel Shannon and her horse Willingapark Clifford made history at the Australian International Three-Day Event (an equestrian event also known as Eventing) when they became the first combination to have a second CCI4* win (the highest level of eventing competition) at Adelaide (2016 & 2018).[1] twice[2].
Hazel is coached by Heath Ryan[3] and based in Newcastle, NSW[4].
Hazel is sponsored by Willinga Park and Terry Snow. Terry has recently purchased a second horse for Hazel, Cooley SRS[5][6]. Cooley SRS was the runner up at the Badminton Horse Trials in 2018[7]
Early Life
Hazel grew up in Mutchilba, QLD. Hazel attended Mareeba High School. Hazel attended both Mareeba and Dimbulah primary school. Hazel started horse riding at the age of 3 years and is part of a family that was involved in pony club and camp drafting[8]
