Headline USA
Headline USA is a conservative-oriented political news site based in Charlotte, NC.[1] It was founded in 2017 as Liberty Headlines but underwent a rebranding in 2020. Much of its traffic and revenue comes from two daily email blasts that include a curated selection of the day's biggest headlines.[2]
The site publishes a variety of content, some of it lighthearted and humorous, some hard-hitting and in-depth, and some offbeat and controversial. Most of its stories have some sort of tie-in with topical subjects being reported on by conservative media. It features a mix of syndicated content from the Associated Press and other news sites, along with original articles from in-house writers and freelancers. Freelancers have gone on to write for well-known conservative publications including the Epoch Times, Washington Examiner and the Daily Wire.
Headline USA's work has been featured and discussed on outlets including Fox News and the Rush Limbaugh Show[1], the Gateway Pundit[3] and the Drudge Report. Its content has been shared on social media by prominent politicians including Rep. Madison Cawthorn[4] and Rep. Dan Bishop.[5] In addition to conducting interviews with Bishop and Cawthorn, the website has published exclusive interviews with other noteworthy names including Rep. Alex Mooney[6], North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, actor/singer John Schneider (of "The Dukes of Hazzard")[7] and Fox News personality Tyrus.[8]
The original editor of the site was Paul Chesser, who is now director of the Corporate Integrity Project at the National Legal and Policy Center.[9] Current editor Ben Sellers, a former journalist and high school teacher from Virginia, assumed the role in October 2021.[1]
