Heath Ritenour is chairman and CEO of the Insurance Office of America. Since joining the company in 1996, he has helped the agency grow into the 13th largest private insurance agency in the United States with $112 million in revenue.^[1]

Early Life[edit]

Heath Ritenour attended Liberty University, majoring in Business Administration and playing football. Heath Ritenour grew up in the insurance business. His parents, John and Valli Ritenour, founded their first insurance company when he was just a baby. They moved to Florida and started the company that would become Insurance Office of America (IOA) when he was nine. The Florida-based insurance business would grow to be one of the top insurance brokers in the United States, with more than 700 employees and more than 60 offices throughout the United States and even one in London.

As a young adult, Heath Ritenour learned the value of hard work and good customer service as he interned at the family business during summer breaks from school. After attending Liberty University, Heath Ritenour decided to follow in his parents' footsteps and joined IOA as a full-time employee.^[2]

Career[edit]

Ritenour has been named to the 2020 Business Insurance "Hot 100 List" and as the 2018 Orlando Business Journal's "CEO of the Year." He currently holds insurance licenses in the property and casualty general lines and health and life (including variable annuity contracts).

He is a member of the Board at Cogent Bank and serves as President of the IOA Foundation. He previously has served on the board of the Foundation for Seminole State College, the Seminole County Public Schools Foundation, the Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation, and the Lifework Leadership Orlando Advisory Board.
