Heather Dixon is the chief financial officer of Acadia Healthcare, the largest stand-alone provider of behavioral health care services in the United States. Dixon joined Acadia in July 2023, and oversees the company’s financial strategy, driving its operational and financial growth as the company continues to expand its network of behavioral health facilities. Acadia operates over 250 facilities across 38 states, serving more than 75,000 patients daily, and Dixon’s expertise is instrumental in ensuring the financial stability necessary to support this scale of care.

Career

Before joining Acadia, Dixon was the CFO at Everside Health, a leading provider of direct primary and mental health care. There, she managed financial operations for 385 health centers nationwide, overseeing strategic financial initiatives aimed at growth and operational efficiency. Her leadership at Everside helped strengthen its financial foundation while expanding access to health care services across the country.

Dixon’s prior experience includes serving as senior vice president, global controller, and chief accounting officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance, where she was responsible for managing the global financial operations of the company. She also held the position of vice president and chief accounting officer at Aetna, a CVS Health company, where she played a key role in financial reporting, governance, and strategic growth initiatives. Additionally, Dixon currently serves as an independent board member of Addus HomeCare.
