Early Life[edit]

Heather Irem Heyer was born in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England to a father of English descent and a mother of Turkish and South Caucasian descent. From April of 1994 to June 1995, Heyer lived in New Zealand where her father, Milton Heyer worked for a cruise ship company. In June of 1995 the family returned to the Tyne & Wear area. In April 1996 to July 1998 the family again temporarily relocated to Muscat, Oman then to Aden, Yemen when her father was promoted to captain for a freighter company. After they returned to England, Heyer's father became captain on a British based cruise liner and the family lived near Stratford-Upon-Avon for several years before returning to South Shields in 2004. heyer ultimately moved to Newcastle after graduating secondary school.

Career[edit]

Heyer's voice acting career began in 2000 under the mentorship of Katy Kellgren and Eve Karpf, both of whom worked with her on all her projects. heyer has provided voices for several Focus on the Family Radio Theater productions. these include

  • The Secret Garden (2000) - Mary (credited as Lily Milton)
  • Les Miserables (2001) as young Cosette (credited as Lily Milton)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia - the Silver Chair (2002) as additional voices (uncredited)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia - the Last Battle (2002) as Mouse and additional voices (credited as Lily Milton).

At the request of both her parents and her mentor Katy Kellgren, Heyer was credited under the alias Lily Milton due to being between 5 and 8 years old at the time of her recordings at the Soundhouse in London for Focus on the Family Radio Theatre. In 2006, she auditioned for Disney's Tangled as the voice of Rapunzel, though she was turned down. It was to be her first role under her real name. She since has worked on a few commercials in the UK until she retired from all voice acting in 2010, with her final role being the voice of Jessie in Lamplighter Theatre's production of a Peep Behind the Scenes, under the name Zoe Thorn, a name she chose herself after her favourite singer, Tracy Thorn. In 2016, she was approached by Philip Glassborow to voice the character Sophie in an audio drama called the Trials of Saint Patrick, though she turned down the role due to having trouble with maintaining the Irish accent they wanted her to do. She is the youngest actor in history to play child Cosette in the Focus on the Family production of Les Miserables, recording her lines in the summer of 2000 at age 6. She is also the youngest actress to play a main role in any of Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre series, being 5 and 6 years old when recording for young Mary for the Secret Garden in February of 2000

Personal Life[edit]

heyer, now retired from voice acting spends her time playing video games such as the mario Party series with her friends. She is also an accomplished guitarist and dreams of becoming a soul singer like her favourite singer Caron Wheeler, whom she looks up to.
