The Heinkel He 231 (VJ 101A)[dubious ] was the name for the design of a VTOL fighter aircraft of the German manufacturer Heinkel in the 1950s in West Germany, which was supposed to solve the problem of West Germany's airfield vulnerability to Soviet attack.[2][3]
