Helenna Santos is an American-Canadian actress best known for the 2018 film At Your Own Risk,[1]and the television series The Flash. She is a producer for Mighty Pharaoh Films[2] and the founder of Ms. In The Biz.[3]
Early life and education[edit]
Santos was born in Napa Valley, California. Prior to settling in British Columbia, Canada at the age of five, her family lived in Singapore and the Philippines. She was a jazz voice major at Capilano College in North Vancouver, British Columbia during her first year of college before transferring to the University of British Columbia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting.[4] She is a dual American and Canadian citizen, and of Filipino, Russian, and German descent.[5][6]
Career[edit]
Santos' notable credits include USA's The Dead Zone, ABC’s In The Motherhood, FOX’s Killer Instinct, and CW’s The Flash.[7] She has also appeared in studio feature films, including the 2012 comedy American Reunion,[8] and has played the lead role in multiple independent films. She is best known for her roles in At Your Own Risk[9][10][11][12][13][14][15] and the award-winning short films Similitude[16][17][18] and The Infected.[19][20][21][22]
She has been a producer for the independent film production company Mighty Pharaoh Films since 2008[23] and the founder of Ms. In The Biz since 2013.[24][25][26][27]
She has appeared as a panelist at multiple conventions, including San Diego Comic-Con[28] and Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con.[29][30] She has also been a guest contributor for multiple publications, including MovieMaker magazine,[31] Backstage magazine,[32][33] IndieWire,[34] Film Inquiry,[35] and Bust magazine.[36]
She is also the co-author of Thriving in Hollywood!: Tenacious Tales and Tactics from Ms. in the Biz.[37]
