Helium Health, formerly known as OneMedical, is a privately held healthcare technology company that provides software as a service for medical practices in Africa. Founded in 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria the company provides a suite of products and services for electronic health record (EHR) management, medical practice management software, medical billing services (revenue cycle management), and software to help practices engage with their patients. In Dec 2018, the company reported over 5,000 medical professionals and 500,000 patients in West Africa using its technology and was regarded as the largest electronic medical record provider in the region...[1]

Helium Health was founded by Adegoke Olubusi, Dimeji Sofowora and Tito Ovia in 2016. Alex Azuike joined as a founder in 2018. The company started with market research and development of its minimum viable product (MVP) before launching in its first hospital by December 2016.[2]

The company was awarded the Etisalat Prize for Innovation in 2016 and was recognized by the Nigerian presidency on Aso Villa Demo Day, which subsequently led to the receipt[3] of  of a World Bank GEM grant[4]

Helium Health, OneMedical at the time, was accepted into the Y Combinator summer class of 2017.[5] In 2017 Helium Health was listed by Inc as one of 5 startups that would disrupt healthcare in 2018[6]

Helium Health raised over $2 million in its seed round of funding from investors including WTI, Venturesouq & Greenhouse Capital.[1]

In 2018, Adegoke Olubusi, Tito Ovia, and Dimeji Sofowora were inducted into the Forbes 30 Under 30 Healthcare class of 2019 for their leadership of Helium Health.[7] Helium Health was also nominated for The Future Africa Awards Prize for Technology 2018.[8]

Helium Health is in operation in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and Liberia.[9]
