Helm Financial Corporation was a company that leased railcars and locomotives to shipping companies and railroads (for example, Union Pacific, CSX,[4] and short-line railroads) across North America. The company owns a fleet of 850 locomotives and 22,000 railcars. All of the locomotives the company owns were made by EMD. The company's subsidiary, Helm Rail Equipment Services, selled diesel engines, traction motors, and other used locomotive components.[5]
