Helmut Webber, German Engineer

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Helmut Webber was a German engineer born on 30 January 1902 in Berlin. He trained as an engineer and ran a workshop building engines for small aircraft and automobiles in Berlin after a chance meeting with Carl Clemens Bücker in 1934.

In 1932, Bücker had returned to Germany from Switzerland and founded Bücker Flugzeugbau GmbH in Berlin-Johannisthal on 3 October 1933. Webber embarked on a small scale project supplying engines to Bucker and automobile makers from 1934 to the 1950s.

In 1939, Bücker achieved great success with the launch of the Bü 181 Bestmann, which became the standard training and practice aircraft of the Luftwaffe.

In April 1945, shortly before the arrival of the Red Army, Bücker moved his production plant to Hamburg and Webber continued to run the workshop in Berlin. Webber's workshop in Berlin was increasingly becoming well known for its reliable production that was driven by precision, perfection and quality, supported by his expertise in engineering.

Gradually, with the end of WWII, the workshop wound up its production business and Webber started a family business distributing German-made products.

The business continued till the 1980s when it was sold to other partners.

Webber subsequently developed the business into a company distributing kitchen appliances.
