Helmut Zipner
Helmut Zipner is a German chef and the current world record holder in asparagus peeling.[1]
World record[edit]
Zipner peeled a full ton of asparagus in 16 hours at the annual Asparagus Festival held in Berlin.[2] This record has earned him the nickname Spargel-Tarzan (Asparagus Tarzan).[3][4] The record remains unchallenged by competitors outside of Germany's annual festival dedicated to the "Königliches Gemüse", or Royal Vegetable.
Zipner has also become a "TV-Küchenmeister", appearing on several chat shows and cooking programmes.
