Herc Rentals Inc. (NYSE: HRI) is one of the largest equipment rental companies in North America. The company has approximately 5,100 employees and 275 company-operated locations primarily in the United States and Canada. In 2019, total revenues of nearly $2.0 billion were generated with a diversified fleet of equipment valued at $3.82 billion.

Founded in 1965, it became an independent publicly-traded company on July 1, 2016, as a result of a split from former parent The Hertz Corporation. It services a broad range of customer markets, including large and small companies in construction; industrial customers such as large industrial manufacturing plants, refineries and petrochemical operations; and other customers such as governmental entities and government contractors, disaster recovery and remediation firms, infrastructure, railroads, utility operators, individual homeowners, entertainment production companies, agricultural producers, special event management and facility management firms. In addition to rentals, the company offers used equipment sales and safety training.

Herc Rentals is led by Lawrence Silber (President & CEO), Aaron Birnbaum (Senior Vice President & COO), and Mark Irion (Senior Vice President & CFO). It is headquartered in Bonita Springs, FL. In 2019, the company was featured on the Fortune 1000 list for the first time.
