Herisht (Persian: هريشت, also Romanized as Herīsht; also known as Heresh and Pīr-e Herīsht)[1] is a village in Mohammadiyeh Rural District, in the Central District of Ardakan County, Yazd Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its existence was noted, but its population was not reported.[2] Zoroastrians believe that "Harisht" is the disappearance of one of the maids of Lady "Yazdgerd Sassanid". Zoroastrians come to this place every year on the 18th day of Nowruz and make pilgrimages, celebrations and carols. The Zoroastrians of Sharifabad go to the shrine of "Pir Harisht" to prepare firewood for the Hirumba festival. They move when they reach Old Harisht before sunset.
