High Schools Society is an educational and a student-based organization located in Ghana, West Africa. The organization, which claims to be oriented towards linking students across the country consists of a platform for high school students to connect towards career opportunities and interest, community service and infotainment. The mission of High Schools Society is to connect students and establish a virtual community of students and network toward career opportunities and goals.

History[edit]

The concept of establishing High Schools Society started in an internet cafe in Ghana. It is a virtual community of students and an online social media and student networking service based in Accra, Ghana. High Schools Society was launched on July 25, 2012, by Curtis Johnson, along with fellow Kwabena Baffour Awuah. The founders had initially limited the community's membership to only students of few high schools; however, later they expanded it to all high school students as well. Since 2015, any student has been allowed to become a member of High Schools Society, though variations exist in the minimum age requirement, depending on applicable local laws. The High Schools Society name comes from the fact that the mission is to create a society of students. The community started on Facebook, and later has developed into a company with many branches and ideas along with its team.
