The Highland News was a local weekly newspaper covering the Scottish Highlands published in Inverness between 1883 and 2022, when its operations were merged with The Inverness Courier.

History

The Highland News was founded on 8 October 1883 by the Highland Temperance League, an organisation founded in 1880 as part of the temperance movement to promote teetotalism.

In 1887, the Highland Land League campaigner John Macleod became editor-in-chief.[1]

In 2022, Highland News and Media merged the Highland News into The Inverness Courier.[2]
