Hightouch

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Hightouch is an American software company that offers a Composable CDP that is expanding into AI-driven campaign automation.[1][2][3] Its software synchronizes data from cloud data warehouses into business applications and automates marketing decisions.[4] The company was founded by Tejas Manohar, Kashish Gupta, and Josh Curl and is based in San Francisco, California.

History

Hightouch was founded in 2018 in San Francisco, California, by Kashish Gupta, Tejas Manohar, and Josh Curl.[5] The founders, who had previously worked at the customer data platform Segment and several early-stage startups, began by developing tools that made cloud data warehouse information usable across business applications.[6] The company joined Y Combinator’s Winter 2019 batch.[7]

In 2020, Hightouch raised a $2.1 million seed round led by Afore Capital.[8] During this period, it introduced its first commercial product, a system for synchronizing warehouse data into external applications.

The company raised additional venture funding in 2021 and 2022, including a $40 million Series B led by ICONIQ Growth.[9][10] Over this time, Hightouch expanded from data synchronization into broader data activation tooling used by marketing, sales, and product teams.

Beginning in 2023, Hightouch introduced customer data management and identity products as part of a shift toward what it described as a composable customer data platform model.[11][12][13] The company also made several acquisitions, including Workbase in April 2022, Whatis in July 2022, and HeadsUp in November 2023, to support its expansion into workflow automation, knowledge management, and product analytics.

In 2025, Hightouch raised an $80 million Series C funding led by Sapphire Ventures.[14] That same year, the company introduced new AI-based marketing and automation systems, including its AI Decisioning product and Hightouch Agents, a set of AI tools for planning, reporting, and data analysis.[15][4][16]

Hightouch has received investments from both Snowflake Ventures and Databricks Ventures. VentureBeat described this combination as unusual among data activation companies. [17][18]

Products

Hightouch software is organized into two primary categories: a Composable Customer Data Platform (CDP) and AI marketing tools.

Composable CDP

The company’s core offering is a "Composable CDP" that activates customer data directly from cloud data warehouses (such as Snowflake and Databricks) rather than storing data within Hightouch itself.[19] The platform’s primary function, known as Reverse ETL, synchronizes warehouse data to downstream applications like CRMs and advertising platforms.

Features within this category include:

Identity Resolution: Tools that merge disparate records into unified customer profiles using matching algorithms.[20]

Audience Management: Interfaces for segmentation and lifecycle planning (marketed as "Customer Studio").[12]

Match Booster: A feature that appends additional identifiers to audience records for use on advertising networks.[21]

Personalization API: A service that allows real-time data retrieval for website and app personalization.[22]

AI Marketing Tools

Hightouch provides a suite of artificial intelligence products designed for automation and decision-making.

Hightouch Agents: Launched in 2025, these are agentic AI tools that assist with campaign planning, audience creation, and operational tasks.[4]

AI Decisioning: A machine learning system that determines channel selection and message timing based on user models.[16]

Campaign Intelligence: An analytics feature that tracks cross-channel performance using warehouse data.[23]

Security and Compliance

Hightouch has obtained ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications. Trade coverage of its ISO 27001 certification highlights security and risk management controls for enterprise customers.[24][18]

Funding

Hightouch has raised several rounds of venture funding since its founding.

In 2020, the company raised $2.1 million in seed funding led by Afore Capital.[8]

In 2021, Hightouch announced a $12.1 million Series A round led by Amplify Partners, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Y Combinator, and Afore Capital.[25]

In November 2022, the company raised $40 million in Series B funding led by ICONIQ Growth, with participation from Amplify Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, Y Combinator, and Afore Capital.[10]

In February 2025, Hightouch completed an $80 million Series C round led by Sapphire Ventures, with continued participation from Bain Capital Ventures, ICONIQ Growth, and other existing investors.[26]

Acquisitions

Hightouch has made several acquisitions since 2022.

In April 2022, Hightouch acquired Workbase, a workflow-automation startup focused on revenue operations and product-led sales workflows.[27]

In July 2022, the company acquired Whatis, a London-based knowledge-management startup.[28]

In November 2023, Hightouch acquired HeadsUp, a product-led-growth analytics company.[29]
