Hildy Brooks
Hildy Brooks (born Hilda Brawner)[citation needed] is an American actress known for her work on Broadway and television. She began her Broadway career in the late 1950s and was directed by Elia Kazan in Tennessee Williams' play Sweet Bird of Youth.[1]
In 1961, Brooks appeared in an episode of Route 66 and the movie "One Plus One." She later appeared on The Guiding Light and The Nurses in 1963. In Reginald Rose's episode "Metamorphosis" of The Defenders (1961), she played the wife of a prison inmate played by Robert Duvall. She also appeared on Naked City three times. Her last credit as "Hilda Brawner" was in 1964.
In 1972, she played Eleanor Jordan on The Bold Ones: The New Doctors. Brooks guest-starred in several television episodes during the 1970s, 1980s, and beyond. She is credited as "Hilda" and "Hildy" for playing the same role ("Margie") in two versions of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh: Sidney Lumet's videotaped The Iceman Cometh (1960) and John Frankenheimer's The Iceman Cometh (1973).
Her most recent television appearances include episodes of Boston Legal (2004–07), ER (2005), Cold Case (2009), and Nip/Tuck (2010).[1]
Personal life
Since April 1965, Brooks has been married to actor Jim Antonio, elder brother of actor/director Lou Antonio.[citation needed]
