Lisias Hilifavali Uusiku, born 9 January 1994 in Windhoek, Namibia, known by his stage name as Hilifa94, is a Namibian artist. He is considered a Hip Hop musician. His first commercial project that brought him to stardom was released in 2014, titled Let The Story Begin EP. Since his entrance into the Namibian music scene, Hilifa94 has worked his way up to become one of the most recognized Hip Hop artists in Namibia. Hilifa94 is an award winning artist having been crowed Best Hip Hop and R&B artist at the 065 Annual Music Awards and earned his first Namibia Annual Music Awards nomination in 2016 for the song Freedom Ain't Free.

Hilifa94 is not only a recording artist but an entrepreneur, record producer and visual artist. He is also known for having designed the artworks on many singles as well as his 2017 commercial project, First Semester.

Early life[edit]

Hilifa94 was born in Windhoek where he lived most of his early life before moving to Ongwediva (North of Namibia)after his family relocated. From his childhood, Hilifa94 had interest in music as he grew up in a music loving home. His interest led him to start writing and performing music under the stage name Eezy Streetz at the tender age of 13. After completing his high school at Oshigambo Secondary School he went to pursue his studies at the Poytechnic of Namibia, dropping out the same year. He decided to take on music full-time while pursuing for a certificate in Sound Technology at the College of the Arts. He dropped out the same year again citing that they were not teaching him what he wanted to be taught.

Music career[edit]

In 2014, Hilifa94 released his first ever commercial single titled Soul Music which ended up topping the Energy 100fm Hip Hop and R&B countdown for three consecutive weeks. The song was so big it earned him a Best Hip Hop and R&B award at the 065 Annual Music Awards. He than released three consecutive commercial projects between 2014-2016 titled Let The Story Begin EP (2014), Numbers and Levels (2015)and Most Wanted 1.5 (2016). In 2016, not only did he get nominated twice in the Namibia Annual Music Awards but also got featured in the prominent annual NAMTV Cypher alongside other rappers such as Ray, Ghetto Bellerina, Handel Mahela just to name a few. In 2016, he worked on what was going to be one of the biggest collaborations in Namibia with Dj KBoz on a Hip Hop/House track titled Fikama. The song topped numerous Radio charts. In 2017, he released a street anthem titled YASHE which represented all the (Y)oung and (A)mbitious (S)trivers (H)ustling (E)veryday.

Business[edit]

Hilifa94 started a music movement of young individuals with similar goals in 2016 which is well known as XCIVsound. It currently houses artists such as PhredGot1, CkD and Martimal47. Under XCIVsound, Hilifa94 began a Yashe brand of stickers and urban wear. In 2017, under XCIVsound he started an annual beat making competition titled Beat Battle Namibia. He also owns a music studio in his home town of Ongwediva which helps record, mix and master music for very low prices. "Making quality music is expensive and this is the reason why I decided to make it affordable for mainly up and coming artists", states Hilifa94. Hilifa94 has also ventured into entertainment after partnering up with Club Tulisanga in Oshikango (Northern Namibia). He is also the brand ambassador for the clothing brand Kasie Mentality.
