Himo

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The word HIMO comes from the Syriac language, an old dialect of Middle Aramaic that was once spoken across much of the Fertile Crescent and Eastern Arabia. Classical Syriac became a major literary language throughout the Middle East from the 4th to the 8th centuries. The word HIMO (ܚܘܒܐ) in Syriac is literally translated into "love" in English. Its roots are still evident in the Arabic language, as the word HIYAM (هيام) means "deeply in love" and is considered the highest level of love in Arabic. However, the Arabic word changed the letter "o" of HIMO to "a", as the Syriac language did not have an "a", and most words borrowed from Syriac into Arabic changed their "o"s to "a"s to fit the modern Arabic alphabet.

HIMO Jewelry is a jewelry company that was established in 1973. It currently has twelve branches throughout Beirut and over a hundred shops selling its jewelry throughout Lebanon.
