How Church of the Nazarene - Tanay started?[edit]

[edit]

Church of the Nazarene - Tanay was founded in 1985, its ministry started under the leadership of Rev. Bern Tamayo (+), a District Superintendent that time with his wife Pastor Luzviminda Tamayo; and their children, Birgel, Sam, and Kiel. They started the ministry under the mango tree as per the permission given by the Barangay Captain during that time.

Every Saturday the family went to Tanay, Rizal to do a Bible study; it started with any household can hear it from the neighborhood.

One testimony from a housewife; Sis. Zoraida Fulgado; she heard a song that tickles her ears and became curious of what is actually happen on that particular scenario and place, so she went there and saw a children singing a song until then she started to listen and until now, she became the first generation that until now is serving God with His faithfulness in her life.

The ministry started from a bible study (an outreach of Antipolo Church of the Nazarene) under mango tree, shifted to a neighbor's chico tree who once heard also the Word of God and listened to it. Nanay Agapita Nevera, was one of the eldest member of the Church of the Nazarene - Tanay, today.

The time passes and the an outreach bible study became a church gathering or worship in a closed Auto-Supply place every Sunday. There, the worship was pastor by Rev. Carol Benzonan's husband with her; followed by Rev. Nida Villareal's husband and her, with the Indonesian named Pastor James.

As time went by, the church was able to pray and kneel earnestly, without ceasing to the Lord, for a lot and building. By the time of 1992, a Korean congregation from Korea, there are two churches made an alabaster offering and Tanay was one of the beneficiary church of that blessing.

Aside from that, church of the Nazarene-Tanay was able to produce a great Pastors from Rev. Ric Valdeabella and Rev. Jimmy Ressureccion; sent to the bible school with the sponsorship of Rev. Bern and Rev. Luz Tamayo and now these two God's leader were ministering in God's appointed ministry in America and Philippines.
