The book "History of Santa Rosa de Copan, Los Llanos" is a work of historical and chronological essay about the city of Santa Rosa de Copán, in the Republic of Honduras. Its author is historian and researcher José Leonardo Urquía Fuentes.

The foundation 1705 of "Los Llanos" by the captain of the Spanish militias, Don Juan Garcia de la Candelaria. The arrival of migrants from Comayagua and Quezailica, due to booming plantations of snuff and the founding in 1790 of the Royal Tobacco Factory. By the end of the eighteenth century "Los Llanos" was already a town with more than two hundred inhabitants.

The book tells of the titles given to the city, such as "National Villa de Los Llanos de Santa Rosa" and in the 19th century the village was elevated to town, why it is called as today, Santa Rosa in honor of the virgin Rose of Lima.

The author further information on the history of the city, add short biographies of characters from the town and modernist events occurred.
