The HiveMC (commonly referred to as The Hive) is a Minecraft minigame server that is one of the four servers officially partnered with Mojang Studios, the developer of Minecraft. The server was released in February 2013. It is currently available on the Java and Bedrock version of Minecraft as of February 2021. [1]The server regularly reaches over 1000 concurrent players each day and has over [2]13 million unique players. [3]It is one of the most popular active Minecraft servers.

The Hive, also known as the HiveMC, was founded in February 2013. It was the creation of the servers The Herobrine and Trouble in Mineville both combining together into one sever. It originally launched with the games The Herobrine, Survival Games and Trouble in Mineville, with the developers who go by the Minecraft username aliases Clankstar and JollyajaX working on the coding. It is one of the oldest Minecraft servers still running. It features many minigames such as Hide and Seek, Murder Mystery and [4]their own version of the game BedWars which was [5]popularized by another server named Hypixel which is currently [6]the most popular and biggest Minecraft server. The peak number of concurrent players on the HiveMC is 39,520 concurrent players as of 2020.
HiveMC Java Edition server shutting down[edit]
On January 11, 2021, The HiveMC Team [7] posted a thread of their forums saying that Java Edition server of HiveMC will be shutting down on April 15, 2021 due to lack of players and limited resources such as money used on the Java Edition Server. It was stated that The HiveMC used more money to host 3,000 concurrent Java players than 30,000 concurrent Bedrock players. [8]TheHiveMC team has closed the store and is offering refunds for the purchasable things you can obtain and also receiving a free rank.
