Holidair was a Canadian airline that operated from the 1980s to 1990 operating a fleet of Douglas DC 8 aircraft with aircraft bought from various airlines around the world.
History
The airline was founded in the late 1980s in Alberta as a joint venture by the companies Travel ‘N’ Save and Air Niagara Express and would commence operations in December of 1988 or 1987.[1][2]
In December of 1988 the airline would buy one of it's Douglas DC 8-55 the Gambian airline Gamair, the aircraft would be sold to Anteres Aircraft.[3]
On June 14 1989 the airline would lease out a Douglas DC 8 from Omega Aerial Refueling Services on a Brief 4 month lee being returned on October 10 1989.[3]
In 1990 due to the sudden fuel spike increases due to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait the airline would be shut down and all aircraft of the airline would be sold.
