Honor Cargill-Martin is a British historian and author.[edit]

Early Life and Education
She was educated at St Paul's Girls' School. She read Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at  Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, being awarded a scholarship and a first class degree. She studied for a masters degree in Greek and Roman History at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford and was awarded a distinction. She then studied for an MA in Italian Renaissance Art History, specialising in the Venetian Renaissance at The Courtauld Institute of Art, London. She is currently studying for a doctorate in Ancient History at Christ Church, Oxford, specialising in political sex scandals in the late Roman Republic and early Empire.
Career
Her first non-fiction title Messalina A Story of Empire, Slander and Adultery is published in the UK by Head of Zeus (Apollo imprint) (11 May 2023) and in the US by Pegasus Books under the title Messalina. Empress, Adulteress, Libertine: The Story of the Most Notorious Woman of the Roman World. A biography of Messalina the  infamous third wife of the Emperor Claudius it has received endorsements from Dan Jones (writer), Andrew Roberts, Baron Roberts of Belgravia, Suzannah Lipscomb and Elodie Harper.
She has also written for children. Between 2016 and 2018, she co-wrote (as Honor Cargill) three teen novels published by Simon & Schuster UK (Waiting for Callback, Take Two and It's A Wrap) and she is the co-author of the Diary of An Accidental Witch series published by Little Tiger in the UK and to be published Random House in the US as well as a number of other territories.
She was an intern at the British Museum July and August 2016.
