Horangi is a CREST-accredited company that specializes in a diverse range of cybersecurity solutions, both software and services. The company was established in 2016 and is headquartered in Singapore, with operations in Asia and the U.S.

Background[edit]

Horangi was founded in 2016 by Paul Hadjy[1] and Lee Sult, engineers from Palantir Technologies. Horangi's strategic and offensive cybersecurity services are used by unicorns worldwide. Warden[2], its cloud security technology, replicates the human layer of expertise to autonomously detect cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities and turn the remediation efforts into compliance reports for regulatory requirements.

Horangi is backed by advisors and investors who specialize in growing Asia businesses. After raising its Series A round[3] in November 2017, Horangi appointed former Gemini Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Jim Rouse[4] as its Vice President of Cyber Operations. In March 2020, Horangi announced a $20 million Series B round[5].

A Holistic Approach To Cybersecurity

From services including Penetration Testing[6], Phishing Simulations, Cybersecurity Assessments, and vCISO, Horangi's consultants conduct a thorough evaluation of a customer's business environment before every project engagement in order to provide cybersecurity recommendations that can be completely aligned and contextualized to a customer's unique challenges.

One end user, George Do[7] from Gojek, said this of Horangi, "Horangi is one of many security firms that we use to augment our security program. With Horangi, we collaborate on areas like penetration testing and improving the maturity of our security incident response capabilities. We also receive support from them with response playbooks and executing war game exercises."

For Horangi's consultants to qualify to act as a customer's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), in a solution known as vCISO, these white hat hackers must be well-versed in all major cybersecurity standards including SOC 2 and PCI DSS, as well as the business regulations in Asia.

Another end user[8], Matt Lambie from Funding Societies, commented, "Horangi’s in-depth knowledge of Singapore’s financial regulatory landscape, combined with the professionalism of its consultants, makes it always a pleasure to work with them. In Horangi’s hands, I can trust that my company is always well ahead of any regulatory change."

Horangi's services are used by insurance partners including Tokio Marine. Mr AK Cher[9], CEO and Managing Director of Tokio Marine Insurance Singapore said, “Tokio Marine has approached Horangi as we feel they can adapt and tailor their services to the different clients we have in our portfolio based on industry sector, maturity level, revenue size and global footprint. As cyber insurers, we sit as partners to cybersecurity specialists; we are all part of the same fight against cybersecurity threats and we all play a part to ensure companies not only survive but thrive post-incident.”
