Horus University is an Egyptian private university. It is located on the International Coastal Road in the city of New Damietta, Damietta Governorate.[1][2]
Establishment
Horus University - Egypt was established by Presidential Decree No. 119 of 2013, and Ministerial Decree No. 4566 of 2016 was issued to commence studies. The campus covers an area of 126,000 square meters. The university is characterized by unique architectural designs, advanced infrastructure, and a strategic geographical location, making it an eco-friendly institution.
On April 5, 2021, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research inaugurated several buildings and projects at the university, including:[3][4]
- Outpatient Clinics (Faculty of Dentistry): Built on 14,096 m², this facility includes academic areas and lecture halls. The clinic building consists of 4 floors with 300 dental units, radiology labs, central sterilization, and an infection control unit. Two specialized clinics are equipped with surgical microscopes.
- Faculty of Human Medicine: Built on 13,300 m² across two 4-story buildings. It includes 30 teaching rooms, 20 multi-purpose labs for anatomy, 10 computer labs with over 300 devices, and 11 student lecture halls.
- University Hospital: The foundation stone was laid for the hospital adjacent to the Faculty of Medicine on 32,000 m² with a 500-bed capacity. The first phase (300 beds) is set for completion in 3 years. One-third of the beds are planned to be free, one-third for a nominal fee, and one-third as an investment branch.
