Hot Ice is the eight episode of the British short lived Television Series Skiboy. It first aired on 1 July 1974.

Plot[edit]

Two men approach Jane, asking them for someone to bring them up Monk's Fall (normally a mountain with Hotel Weisshorn on the summit near Saint-Luc). Jane tells them it is impossible, as it is a very dangerous route to get up there. The men leave and go to Jean, who refuses to climb the mountain, unless they would like to do it in summer. Jean also tells them the terrifying story of Monk's Fall, and why it has its name. Outraged at the situation, the tallest of both decides they were going to get one by force. They then observe Bobbie from a cafe while skiing, and are amazed by his ski skills, and decide he would be of an excellent guidance. They ask him if he could serve at guide, but, like the last two people, they refuse. Seeing Bobbie's dog, they think that dognapping him would make Bobbie want to see his dog again in exchange of his guidance. The bandits come to see Bobbie and inform him that they have dognapped Gruff, and say they would give it back to them only if he guides them to Monk's Fall. Bobbie accepts, and the next day are off to Monk's Fall. Just then, Jean has noticed that Bobbie is missing, but then see three men on the mountain, which Jane recalls two of them being the ones that have visited earlier, just like Jean. Unexpectedly, Gruff has escaped and is running towards them, and Sadie cries a sigh of relief wondering where he had gone. Like a flashback, Jane remembers the two men, who had come in the village five years previously, and says that if Bobbie is with them, he is in terrible danger. After a perilous climb, Bobbie and the bandits arrive on top of Monk's Fall, where there is a monastery. In the monastery, the burglars calculate on a wall and start drilling, where they finally find some diamond and gold hiding under the bricks. Suddenly, Bobbie escapes, puts on his skis and rushes from the summit. The tallest of both tries to catch him, but falls, and injures himself pretty badly. A helicopter chases the second bandit, trying to meet his friend, who falls too. The men are captured by the helicopter. Near the end, we see Bobbie getting some rest at his uncle's hotel.
