Hotel for Dogs (Music from the Motion Picture) is the soundtrack album to the 2009 film Hotel for Dogs directed by Thor Freudenthal starring Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Kyla Pratt, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon and Don Cheadle. The soundtrack was released through Razor & Tie on January 13, 2009, featuring ten songs performed by Tim Myers, Dragonette, Tim Armstrong, Motion City Soundtrack, Steppenwolf, and two of them performed by Kudrow herself.[1]

Reception
Eric Schneider of AllMusic wrote that "Highlights of the soundtrack include Dragonette’s jaunty “Get Lucky,” Uh Huh Her’s driving “Say So,” and Steppenwolf’s hard-rock classic “Born to Be Wild,” all tunes that capture the energy of the raucous mutt-filled film."[2] Renée Scolaro Mora of PopMatters and Robert Davis of Paste considered the soundtrack to be "fascinating" and "energetic" and captured the spirit of the film.[3][4]

Original score
John Debney composed the film score which was recorded at the Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage in Burbank, California.[8] The score was never released commercially; instead, a promotional CD was published by Debney's publicists at Costa Communications.[9] The CD contains 33 tracks of Debney's score running for an hour.[9]
Reception
Jonathan Broxton of Movie Music UK wrote "Debney fans will undoubtedly enjoy it a great deal, and there are some lovely moments, but on the whole this is a rather predictable powder-puff score that will only really appeal to those who like their film scores on the sweet and sentimental side."[10] Ed Gonzalez of Slant Magazine wrote "composer John Debney gets his Elfman on whenever a spectacle is made of Bruce’s doggie-centric inventions".[11]
