Houghton Academy (Houghton, NY) Houghton Academy is a Christian boarding and day school located in Houghton, New York.[2] The School has approximately 115 students from grades 7 to 12. Founded in 1883, Houghton Academy's student body consists of boarding and day students from across the world.
History
Houghton Academy began in 1883 as the Houghton Wesleyan Methodist Seminary and was founded by Willard J. Houghton, a local Wesleyan Methodist minister. In 1955 Houghton Wesleyan Methodist Seminary was renamed Houghton Academy.[3]

Campus
The Academy campus is located in the hamlet of Houghton, New York. The scenic campus is a little more than 25 acres.The Academy facilities include the Thomas and Joan Phillippe Center; which incorporates the 300 seat Rosemary Tysinger Auditorium, Philinda Bowen Hall, J.W. Tysinger Gymnasium, Cafeteria, music practice rooms, and administrative offices. There are separate residential facilities for boy and girls.
