House in the Cerulean Sea
The House in the Cerulean Sea (2020) is a young-adult fantasy Novel written by the author TJ Klune[1] and first published by Tor Books in March 2020[2]. It follows the life of Linus Baker, a solitary caseworker who works at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, overseeing the conditions of the orphanages magical kids are in; these kids suffer from bigotry and prejudice, and these orphanages help them not to use their magic and their powers so they can join society again. He is an excellent worker and tries not to get attached emotionally to the cases he works with.[3]
He is called by the Extremely Upper Management one day to be sent to the Marsyas Island Orphanage, a place where no caseworker knows exists because of the secrets hidden in that place; there are kinds of magical kids that never have been seen before. He has to deal with six problematic children: a forest sprite, a wyvern, the son of the devil, a creature with tentacles, a garden gnome and a pomeranian dog.

- Linus Baker is a 40-year-old caseworker for the government Department in Charge of Magical Youth (DICOMY), a governmental organization responsible for taking care of magical kids. He oversees orphanages; checks the conditions the children live in, and how the masters of the orphanage deal with them. He lives a solitary life in a house, only accompanied by his cat Calliope. He tries not go get too attached to the children he works with.
- Arthur Parnassus is the master of the Marsyas Island Orphanage, a secret orphanage which no one knows the existence of due to the cases the orphanage has. The children living in that place are either powerful or beings that were never seen before.
- Phee is a forest sprite.
- Talia is a female gnome and, despite the gender, she has a long white beard.
- Theodore is a Wyvern that can't speak english but communicates through hisses. All characters except Linus can talk to him.
- Lucy is the son of the devil, being six years, six months and six days old. He can change the weather and his surroundings, which he uses constantly to harass Linus Baker just for fun.
- Chauncey is a creature with tentacles that, despite his appearence, is caring and loveable.
- Sal was a boy, but once Linus scared him, he turned into a five-pound fluffy pomeranian.
