Steps in Building a Home
Start with financing. Make sure you can afford to pay for the home. Generally, the cost is $100 to $150 per sq ft.
You will need plans for the home you want to build and a piece of land to build the home on. Contact an Architect for plans and a Realtor for property. Also, you will need a plot map of the property.
You can start with a builder to help you with all 3 items above, as they will have contacts in each industry.
Now you need to bid your plans to see how much your home will cost. Your architect will give you a preliminary set of plans to bid. You will take this to different trades/companies and ask them to give you an estimate on what they would charge for this home. This will only be an estimate, and some assumptions will need to be made.
