Hryhorii Arkadiyovych Hurtovyi (Russian: Григорий Аркадьевич Гуртовой, born June 6, 1953, Odessa, Ukrainian SSR) — Russian-Ukrainian entrepreneur, banker, millionaire. Candidate of Economic Sciences.

He is listed in the ranking of the "200 richest people in Ukraine". As of 2012, he ranked 170th. Experts estimate his fortune at 42.4 million dollars.[1]

Education[edit]

In 1985, he graduated from the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute (specializing in "hydropneumatic automation and hydraulic drive"), and in 1989 from the Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy. He is a Candidate of Economic Sciences and defended his thesis on July 8, 2004 on the topic "Organization of property management processes in an airline".[2] He also completed a course on airline management at the St. Petersburg Academy of Civil Aviation.

Professional activities[edit]

From 1989 to 1991 — Commercial Director, Vice-President of the USSR Aviation Safety Fund (Moscow).

From 1991 to 1997, he worked at the airline "Трансаеро" (Moscow, Russia) and held the positions of Financial and Commercial Director, First Vice-President, Executive Director, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors. According to media reports, he was dismissed by shareholders due to detected financial violations.[3]

From 1997 to 1998 — Chairman of the Board of Directors of the British company Atlas Project Management in Russia.

From 1998 to 2004 — General Director, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and from 2004 to 2012 — Co-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the airline "AeroSvit" (Ukraine).

From July 11, 2005 to 2010 — Managing Partner, CEO, Chairman of the Advisory Board, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LLC "Renaissance Capital Ukraine".[4]

From 2007 to 2012 — Member of the Exchange Council of JSC "Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange".[5]

From April 2009 to 2013 — Member of the Supervisory Board of PJSC "Finbank".[6]

In September 2013, he was appointed Managing Partner of GHP Group Ukraine for the development of the global financial group GHP Group (formerly — Fleming Family & Partners) in Ukraine.[7]

On November 20, 2013, he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Platinum Bank[8], after the bank was purchased by Odessa businessmen Boris Kaufman and Alexander Granovsky.[9]

The media speculated that Grigory Gurtovoy might be appointed as the head of the state enterprise being created "Airports of Ukraine".[10]

He has a Russian passport, issued by the Russian Federation Representation in Ukraine on August 17, 2011[11], as well as citizenship of Israel.

Assets[edit]

Owns 50% of the Dutch financial-industrial group Gilward Investments B.V. (Strawinskylaan 411 Toren A 4e, 1077 Xx, Amsterdam), which comprises around 100 companies. Its most significant assets include 28.5% of shares of the company "Aeroflot", more than 3% — RAO UES, 36% — of the aircraft leasing company "Ilyushin Finance", and also 37.9% of shares of JSC "AeroSvit".[12][13]

Grigory Gurtovoy owns 100% of the British company Eton Alliance Group Ltd. (Palladium House, 1-4 Argyll Street, London, W1F 7LD) with a statutory fund of 450 thousand pounds.

Awards[edit]

Order "For Merits" II degree (August 20, 2008) — for significant personal contribution to strengthening the authority of Ukraine in the world, promoting its historical and modern achievements, and on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.[14]
