Htoo Ant Lwin (Burmese: ထူးအံ့လွင်; born Soe Min Tun; 1 November 1995) is a Burmese model and beauty pageant director.[1] He represented Myanmar in international male pageants before serving as national director for franchises including Miss Grand Myanmar and Miss World Myanmar.[2][3]
Early life and career
Soe Min Tun was born on 1 November 1995 in Yangon, Myanmar. He began working as a fashion model using the stage name Htoo Ant Lwin.
In November 2016, he competed at the Man of the Year 2016 pageant in Pekanbaru, Indonesia.[4] In 2017, he represented Myanmar at Mister Supranational 2017 in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland.[5]
Pageant directorship
Miss Grand Myanmar
Htoo Ant Lwin served as national director of Miss Grand Myanmar from 2021 to 2024.[3] Under his tenure, Ni Ni Lin Eain placed first runner-up at Miss Grand International 2023, and Thae Su Nyein represented Myanmar at Miss Grand International 2024.[6]
During the 2024 coronation in Bangkok, Thae Su Nyein was awarded second runner-up. Immediately afterward, Htoo Ant Lwin removed her crown and sash on stage.[7][8] Thae later announced she was returning the title, citing unfair results.[9] On 28 October 2024, Miss Grand International issued a **lifetime ban** against Htoo Ant Lwin, citing "lack of sportsmanship and business credibility."[10][7] He publicly accused MGI president Nawat Itsaragrisil of selling the crown for US$25,000; Nawat denied the claim and threatened legal action.[7]
Miss World Myanmar
In November 2024, following the MGI dispute, Htoo Ant Lwin was appointed national director for Miss World Myanmar 2025.[2] On 7 March 2025, he crowned Khisa Khin as the winner in Yangon.[11]
