Kai Kamal Huening (born August 14, 2002), known professionally as HueningKai (Hangul: 휴닝카이), is an American singer based in South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together, which debuted under Big Hit Entertainment in March 2019.

Early life and education

Kai Kamal Huening was born on August 14, 2002, in Honolulu, Hawaii ^[1]^[2] to a South Korean mother and an American father.^[2] His siblings are model Jung Lea and his younger sister, Huening Bahiyyih from Kep1er.^[3]

Career

2019–present: debut with TXT and solo activities

On January 16, 2019, Big Hit Entertainment revealed HueningKai as the third member of TXT.^[4] On March 4, 2019, he officially debuted as a member of Tomorrow X Together with the release of their first extended play (EP), The Dream Chapter: Star.^[5]

In June 2024, HueningKai launched the web series HueningKai Wants to Start a Band on YouTube.^[6] In 2024, he contributed the single "Can't Stop", alongside his bandmate Taehyun, to the soundtrack of the original series Brewing Love; the single was released on November 18.^[7]

Philanthropy

On January 3, 2025, HueningKai donated ₩50 million (US$FXConvert/Wordify error: cannot parse value "Undefined year """) to support the Jeju Air tragedy victims' families.^[8]
