Human Dimensions of Organizations (HDO) is a program in the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. The program offers a bachelor's degree, a professional master's degree, and professional training. The HDO program was founded in 2011. HDO's founding director was Dr. Art Markman, a professor of psychology and Vice Provost of Continuing and Professional Education and New Education Ventures. The program's current director is Dr. Amy Ware.[1] [2]

Mission

HDO students and faculty explore how an understanding of the liberal arts (literature, drama, rhetoric, history, philosophy, etc.) and the social and behavioral sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc.) impacts individual and organizational success.[3][4]

Academic Curricula

HDO undergraduate students complete the following core courses in pursuit of their degree:

• HDO 301: Introduction to the Human Dimensions of Organizations
• HDO 320: Multidisciplinary Methods for Exploring Organizations
• HDO 379: Applying the Human Dimensions of Organizations
• HDO 359H and 379H: Honors Research in Human Dimensions of Organizations *honors students only

HDO graduate students complete the following core courses in pursuit of their degree. The HDO Master's program was developed for professionals and students are encouraged to draw on their career experience in assignments and class discussions:[11]
