Human rights can shape the community into a place for any individual. These are the main factors why racism, conflict, Etc. And these conflicts aren’t just a rare thing, as there are multiple instances of racism and wars, and these cases can be proven, as the American Civil War happened because of the slavery of black men in the southern part. In this article, I will discuss human rights and how they can affect the world.
What are Human Rights
Human rights are the rights given to humans, as said in the phrase “Human Rights”. These rights range from freedom of motion and residence to the right to life. These rights are what humans can do.
The Main Human Rights
The right to life- The right to life states that a person cannot be killed unlawfully or arbitrarily by another person or the state.
The right of liberty- the right of liberty states that a person must have freedom from unlawful detention and arbitrary restriction.
The right to freedom- The right to freedom states that no one shall be held in slavery; any form of slavery is prohibited.
Right to non-discrimination- The right of non-discrimination states that everyone is entitled to freedom and rights.
Who Created the Concept of Human Rights
The concept of human rights was made on December 10th, 1948, as the UDHR (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights) was created on that date, and the UN (United Nations) created it for the sole purpose of freedom and dignity after the horrors of WW2 (World War 2).
Why are Human Rights Important
Human Rights are important as they give humans freedom to do certain acts, making them a top priority in the world.
What happens if a Country doesn’t give their Citizens all their Rights?
If a country doesn’t give its own citizens rights, that country will face punishments like warnings or punishments (like travel bans, suspension from international groups, loss of aid, funding, and international court trials) from the UN. Some examples of this are Russia (facing travel bans and economic penalties), North Korea (facing sanctions), etc.
Civil Rights
Civil rights are said to protect individuals from discrimination and ensure that everyone gets fair treatment.
Political Rights
Political Rights are said to be able to let all individuals have the right to vote, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly.
Economic Rights
Economic rights are said to be able to give legal rights and freedom to let all individuals pursue economic activities.
Cultural Rights
Cultural rights are said to be able to give individuals who are entitled to their cultural heritage and identity.
Historical Violations of Human Rights
There are many historical violations of human rights, but a pure example is the USA in 1619, which enslaved black Africans as a cheaper and plentiful labor source. After that, England started enslaving them from the period 1776 to 1945.
The Future of Human Rights
The Future of human rights will be human rights being more embraced and used, making them an even more global sign of treating everyone fairly and respectfully.
