Life and Career[edit]

Humberly González

Humberly González was born in 1992 in Punto Fijo, Venezuela, where she spent most of her childhood and adolescence. Her mother tongue is Spanish. Humberly has always had a passion for dancing and singing.[1] The family later moved to Canada, where the actress had to improve her English language skills and was confronted with the theater for the first time in the new Canadian school. It was only then that Humberly realized that acting could have a future for her.[1] After graduating from high school, she applied to the National Theater School in Montreal, Canada, where she also honed her acting skills. During this time she lived alone, away from her family and worked in restaurants.[1]

Shortly after graduating from the National Theater School, she took on commercial assignments for the first few years. The first paid commercial order was on October 25th, 2015 in a Star Wars scene in Montreal. She received actor credits through numerous commercial assignments.[1] Humberly appeared in the short film It's Not You in 2015, but it was the mini-series Women are from Mars in 2016 that announced its launch in show business. At the beginning of her career, most of her acting was limited to supporting roles in series and films, where she could intensify her skills.[1] Humberly's breakthrough as an international actress came with the roles of Ana in Orphan Black (2017), Vanessa in In The Dark (2019), Brooklyn 2 in Utopia Falls (2020) and Sophie Sanchez in Ginny & Georgia (2021).[2] In 2020 the actress received the FFTG Award for the film We for best international actress.[3]

In September 2020, Humberly was announced as the new PHILLY Angel. PHILLY Angel can be seen in various commercials for the cheese spread, which is very popular in Canada. Humberly replaced Linda Kash, who has been known from the commercials since the 90s.[4]

Humberly lives in Toronto, Canada.[5]
