Hume Avenue MRT Station (DT4) is a future MRT station on the Downtown MRT Line in Singapore. It will not be opened together with the Downtown Line Stage 2 as it is a reserved station. Like Bukit Brown MRT Station, the station is used as an emergency escape shaft for emergency needs between Hillview and Beauty World MRT Stations. The station is also reserved because of the surroundings, like Woodleigh MRT Station on the North East Line; not many buildings are around the station, so the station is kept reserved.
The station is set to open in 2030 when more buildings are occupying the station and it is ready for the needs of all residents. The nearest station for the residents in Hume right now would be Hillview MRT Station.
History
Hume was supposed to be a "reserved" station, but due to some internal items (KTM tracks that break into the Beauty World), it was deferred, also due to the lack of developments in the vicinity. This station will be opened in 2030.
