HuniePop 2 - Double Date is a tile-matching and dating sim adult video game created by American game designer Ryan Koons, under the alias of HuniePot[1]. It was released on February 8, 2021 for the game platform Steam[2]. The game is a sequel to the first HuniePop game, as the player has to prevent two intergalactic creatures from destroying the earth by collecting as many fairy wings as possible via threesomes.

The game received generally positive reviews, with character development and story that are "lacking in comparison to its predecessor", but acclaimed for being a "serious match-three puzzle game", according to and given an overall score of 6.5/10 by Metacritic[3]

Plot

The Nymphojinn, a pair of intergalactic succubuses composed of Moxie and Jewn, have settled inside Mt. Nymphojaro, a volcano on Inna de Poona, a tropical island resort. They awake once every ten thousand years, and their rage is known for annihilating entire galaxies. A legend says that only someone powerful enough can sexually please them to return them to their slumber. Meanwhile, the player encounters Kyu again in his apartment, and she tells him about the legend and the upcoming destruction. The player agrees and sets off on an adventure.

Gameplay

HuniePop 2 plays similarly to its predecessor, with the player (either male or female) interacting with different women, each with their own personalities and preferences. By talking to the girls and giving them gifts, the player will earn Fruit Seeds, which can be used to craft smoothies.

While the dating mechanic hasn't changed much, the novelty comes from the player being involved in double dating: he will interact with two women at a time, each of them having different pairings. Another inclusion is Stamina: by talking to a girl or dating her, the player will drain their stamina, and once the stamina bar is empty, the player will automatically switch to the other girl. Also, by answering certain questions correctly, the player will get a Baggage, a special item that poses an additional challenge on a date (such as the absence of a certain token or a quicker stamina drain).
