Husain Lawai (Urdu: حسین لوائی) Is a well-known financial personality in Pakistan. He is currently the Chief Executive of Institute of Bankers Pakistan. He was previously the President and CEO of Summit Bank.[1]

Lawai is a Pakistani Banker with more than 40 years of banking experience. He is currently the Vice Chair of Summit Bank Limited (since Nov 2016). Lawai was the Chief Executive Officer and President of Mybank Ltd. (April 2011); and he was the Chief Executive Officer and President of Atlas Bank Limited (July 7, 2010). Both these Banks were bought by Summit Bank and are now part of Summit Bank.[3][4] Previous to this, Lawai was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Muslim Commercial Bank; was instrumental in establishing Faysal Islamic Bank, Pakistan; the first Islamic Shariah Compliant Bank. He has also served as the General Manager, Emirates NBD Bank for Pakistan and Far East, and as Director, Security investment and Finance Limited, UK. Lawai serves as a Non-Executive Director of Glaxo Smithkline Pakistan Ltd; is on the Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Wyeth Pakistan Limited, and Chairman of Central Depository Company of Pakistan. Husain Lawai is also a Board Member of State Life Corporation.[5] [6]
