Hutchinson Lilley Investments LLP (HLI) is a boutique investment business that was set up in 2000 by Robert Hutchinson and Ian Lilley. It manages risk-controlled and balanced portfolios, diversified across regions and asset classes. Their clients include high net worth investors, charities, family offices, private banks and trusts.

HLI also provides Regulatory Umbrella services which incubate advisors and new investment managers until they can become established and operate independently. Hutchinson Lilley Investments is one of four founding members of the UK Compliance and Regulatory Association which was launched in June 2013.[1]

HLI is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The company is independent and owner managed.

Partners[edit]

Robert Hutchinson was formerly Joint Managing Director of Schroder Investment Management (International) Ltd. He is a director on the board of the New City Initiative [NCI],[2] which meets with other independent, owner managed asset management firms. He speaks about investment management and economic matters at universities [3] and conferences. Along with the other partners, Robert Hutchinson runs the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.

Ian Lilley was previously Head of the Client Service Team for Schroder Investment Management (International) Ltd.

Mike Downie was formerly director in operations for Schroder Investment Management Ltd, and managing partner of Blueprint Capital Management LLP.
