Early years[edit]
Hyman Samuels was the son of Sam Samuels, a Russian immigrant tailor, and his wife, Perl Lehrer Samuels. Hyman Samuels worked as a salesman of women's apparel, then became a brassiere manufacturer (Renee of Hollywood).[2][3]
Marriage to Lynne Roberts[edit]
On May 3, 1953, actress Lynne Roberts announced that she planned to wed Hyman Samuels on June 6, her third marriage and his second.[4] The ceremony took place at Ontario, California. Roberts retired from acting after her marriage at the urging of her husband. She gave birth to a daughter in 1955. Hyman Samuels formally adopted her son from her first marriage.[5] Roberts separated from Samuels in 1958, reconciled briefly, then finally divorced in 1961.[6][7]
Later life[edit]
Samuels did not remarry. He died in Los Angeles in 1973. His ashes are interred in Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Beth Olam, Columbarium, Hall of David, Corridor T7-1, Tier 22, Niche 1.[8]
