Currently called Hypatia - although it was inicially developed under the name "Veritas" - this antivirus software app was a project from Divested Computing Group, and it was created as the first FOSS real-time malware scanner for Android systems.[1]
Launched in 2017, it was developed with the goal of offering advanced security features to protect Android devices from malicious software.[2] With over 7.2 million default malware signatures, which can be expanded to over 45 million, Hypatia ensures comprehensive protection against a wide range of threats - while it is powered by ClamAV style signature databases.[2][3]
