IASAS Boys Basketball
The IASAS basketball tournament is an annual interscholastic competition among the six member schools of the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools. The tournament features boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, promoting athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange among students in the region. History
The IASAS basketball tournament began in 1983,. The event was created to provide student-athletes from member schools with the opportunity to compete at a high level while fostering camaraderie and intercultural understanding. Over the years, the tournament has grown in competitiveness and popularity, with schools alternating as hosts.

Format
The IASAS basketball tournament follows a round-robin format, with each team playing against all other teams. After the preliminary round, the top teams advance to the semifinals and finals to compete for the championship. Teams reaching the final will play 7 games during the 3 day tournament. Individual awards are often presented for categories such as all Tournament Team.
Cultural and Educational Impact
Beyond athletics, IASAS basketball serves as a platform for students to develop leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural skills. The hosting school often organizes social and educational activities alongside the tournament, reinforcing IASAS’s mission to promote intercultural understanding and collaboration.
