IMR Test Labs

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

IMR Test Labs is a materials testing laboratory specializing in the analysis of metals, polymers and composite materials. The laboratories in New York and Singapore also offer training courses in conjunction with ASM International (society),[1] AAIS (Association of Aerospace Industries Singapore)[2] and other training providers. IMR is a business unit of CWST (Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies.)

IMR is accredited[3] by Nadcap,[4] A2LA[5] or SAC [6] (ISO/IEC 17025), General Electric and Pratt & Whitney.

History[edit]

IMR Test Labs opened its first facility in Lansing, New York in January 1998 by a group of employees who had splintered off from a previous lab.

IMR first expanded with the acquisition of IMR Metallurgical Services, located in Louisville, Kentucky in October 2002. The Louisville facility specializes in failure analysis and litigation support services.

IMR Test Labs - Charleston, South Carolina, was acquired in 2007 but later closed in May 2010 with the downturn in the automotive industry.

IMR KHA - Portland, formerly Koon-Hall-Adrian was acquired in February 2008, filling in IMR's portfolio of aerospace testing services by adding creep/stress rupture, hydrogen embrittlement and other related services.

On July 22, 2011, the Curtiss-Wright corporation purchased IMR Test Labs,.[7] IMR was added to the metal treatment segment, now called Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies.[8]

IMR Test Labs moved into Asia in December 2011 with the opening of IMR Test Labs - Singapore to support the aerospace industry in the far east. The Singapore facility is Asia's only independent, commercial aerospace laboratory carrying Nadcap, SAC (ISO/IEC 17025), GE S-400 and Pratt & Whitney approvals.

The final addition to IMR family was Test Labs - Suzhou, opened in September 2012. This lab was built inside the Metal Improvement facility (MIC) in the Suzhou Industrial Park. MIC is also a business unit of Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies.
