IP Magnetic Coupling

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

IP Magnetic Coupling[edit]

The "IP" in IP Magnetic Coupling stands for Incapsulated Powder and the fact that the magnet is hermetically sealed resulting in a high IP rating.[1]

It is a unique corrosion resistant coupling based on an innovative and patented new process. The magnet being fully enclosed in stainless steel such that it is fully protected against all external factors. [2]

Uniqueness of the IP Magnetic Coupling[edit]

The uniqueness of the IP Magnetic Coupling is the magnet solution inside both the inner and the outer drive. The solution eliminates many construction and recycle challenges, making it possible to move the process to automated production lines, which makes it valuable for high volume production.

Advantages[edit]

Just as any other magnetic coupling, it has the following advantages: Fully medium separation can be acquired by placing a physical barrier between the two. No oil needed in order to function, there is no contact between the two shafts which also keeps the noise level very low, no wear allows it to function for a long time and it requires little to no maintenance, the solution also allows for misalignment of the shaft, acts as a torque limiter protecting the mechanical parts.[3]

Above all of these, the IP magnetic coupling can provide higher torque at the same volume as a normal magnetic coupling, there is no epoxy used in the production making it environmental friendly and fully recyclable.

Fields of application[edit]

The IP magnetic coupling can be used as a regular coupling in the following fields of application:

  • Pump Industry
  • Mixers/Agitators
  • Offshore Turbine Industry

It can also be used as a torque limiter in:

  • Cutters and grinders
  • Bottling/Packaging/Paper converting
