ISTE Group
ISTE Group is a scientific publishing house that publishes in French, English and Spanish.
History
ISTE Group is an independent, family-owned scientific and technical publishing company led by Sami Ménascé. Based in London[1] in the United Kingdom, it brings together several specialized entities. The earliest of these, ISTE Ltd, was created in 2007[2] and co-publishes around 300 English-language STM (science, technology and medicine) titles each year with Wiley.[3] The expansion of the group continued with the creation of ISTE Editions in 2014,[4] which now publishes approximately 200 French-language STM titles per year across its collections.[5]
In 2015, the group added ISTE Press Ltd[6], which co-publishes around 100 English-language titles per year with Elsevier. To broaden its STM coverage, ISTE launched the OpenScience platform the same year,[7] an open-access space that hosts 29 scientific journals. The internationalization of the group continued in 2020 with the creation of ISTE International,[8] dedicated to Spanish-language scientific publications. That same year, ISTE began the large-scale publication of SCIENCES,[9][10][11] an ambitious contemporary encyclopedia project consisting of 800 titles to be released over a decade.
Fields of publication[12]
ISTE Group’s publications cover a wide scientific spectrum, ranging from biology, medicine and health to chemistry, ecology and environmental disciplines. The catalog also includes works on information and communication sciences, engineering, systems science, mathematics, physics, and the humanities and social sciences, extending further to Earth and Universe sciences.
